Creativity: So many questions, but how many answers?

The word 'creative' appears to be popping up all over the place at the moment and with it an array of questions:

What is creativity? And how can a person describe themself as creative?
Is creativity a skill someone is born with or can it be learned? If so, how?
Does education in fact kill creativity?
If an idea is merely a reinterpretation of an existing idea is it truly creative?
How can creativity be protected?

These are just some of the questions that float through my mind and so I have joined the blogging world in an attempt to try to find some answers. As a self-confessed techno-phobe this (hopefully) will be an interesting journey!

So please leave comments or share links to interesting articles/sites/blogs to help me on this quest!

  1. Interesting questions you pose. I have my opinions on creativity; I believe we are all creative in our own ways, it's a matter of discovering where our talents are. I will gladly share with you anything I find on this subject... even my own thoughts from time to time. Have a wonderful week and all the best on your quest!

    1. Thank you - it's taking some getting used to but I'm finding very interesting sites out there!
Your masters sounds great - where did you do that?! If there are any textbooks you recommend let me know - I have Csikszentmihalyi's book on Creativity but haven't quite ventured into it properly yet (besides a few chapters for my undergraduate degree but that was several years ago!)
